Reviews: read them, then discount them

User reviews are useful for pattern detection, not truth certification. The internet is good at generating signals and terrible at controlling for placebo, selective reporting, diagnosis errors, and fake products.

User reports

Reviews often mention reduced pain, faster return to training, fewer flare-ups, or unexpectedly quick recovery timelines. Anecdotal Those reports matter as raw observation, but they are weak evidence on their own.

What reviews usually miss

  • Whether the diagnosis was confirmed
  • Whether the product identity was real
  • Whether rehab, rest, or other interventions changed at the same time
  • Whether negative outcomes were never posted

How to read reviews intelligently

Look for repeated patterns, not hero stories. Look for timelines that admit uncertainty. And put far more weight on pages that distinguish “I felt better” from “we know why and can reproduce it.”

Then cross-check with benefits, before and after, and research.
